Your children will love the attention and care they receive from our amazing volunteers.Fireflies (2 years through 3 years) In Fireflies our goal is to help children discover God. Your kids will love the energy and excitement they receive from our high-impact volunteers and leaders!Safety and Security! Our priority at Spark is to help kids follow Jesus. You can also let us know of any special concerns or allergies that would be helpful for us as we partner with you. You’ll also be given a security tag. The number on the tag must match the number on your child’s tag after the session. Once you are checked-in, you and your child will be directed to their group area for the day. All of our Spark leaders have background checks and are passionate about teaching your child how to follow Jesus. Then, once the session is over, you simply bring your tag back to your child’s group area to pick up your child.SnacksChildren in Glowbugs who are crawling may be served Puffs, while children who are walking may be served Cheerios. Spark often gives candy as prizes or for things pertaining to the lesson. There may be certain times when another type of food will be offered with the lesson as well. If you have a concern about a snack being offered, please inform a volunteer in your child's group area. partnershipNEXT CLASS IS JANUARY 22nd @ 9am at the Convention Center We desire every person who attends Ignite to become a PARTNER. Partnership is like membership but so much more. It's not your name on some list, it's a relationship and commitment from the church and from you to reach this city and to advance God's Kingdom TOGETHER. All you have to do is attend one of our BLAZE PARTNERSHIP CLASSES. The next class will be January 22nd @ 9am @ The Convention Center You'll learn about Ignite's Core Values, Vision, Mission, Beliefs, and how you can greatly help us reach the lost and disciple the found... You can sign up here by emailing Pastor Jason @
pastorjasonlineberger@gmail.comYou can also sign up any Sunday at our Next Steps Table on the Partnership Sheet. Join us as we reach Greenville and the World together! Why Do I Need to Become a Partner of Ignite? The difference between “attenders” and “members” can be summed up in one word: commitment! At Ignite we recognize the need for a formal partnership. We ask you to commit to partnership for four reasons:1. A Biblical Reason: Christ is committed to the Church!“...Christ loved the church, and he gave his life for it.” Eph. 5:252. A Cultural Reason: Partnership Destroys Consumerism! We live in an age where very few want to be committed to anything...a job...a marriage...our country. This attitude has even produced a generation of “church shoppers and hoppers”. Partnership swims against the current of America’s “consumer religion.” It is an unselfish decision. Commitment always builds character.3. A Practical Reason: Who Can We Count On?Every team must have a roster. Every school must have an enrollment. Every business has a payroll. Every army has an enlistment. Even our country takes a census and requires voter registration. Parntership identifies our family.4. A Personal Reason: Partnership Produces Spiritual Growth! The New Testament places a major emphasis on the need for Christians to be accountable to each other for spiritual growth. You cannot be accountable when you’re not committed to any specific church family.
baptismThe Bible clearly teaches that baptism is the first step of obedience after making a commitment to Christ. Baptism allows a believer to communicate to the world their heart-felt commitment to Christ. People often have questions regarding baptism: Why should I be baptized? I’ve already been baptized. Do I have to do it again? Does it matter if someone is sprinkled or dunked?Ignite's Next Baptism Service!July 31 at the Greenville Convention CenterWhy is Baptism So Important?1.To follow the example set by Jesus!“At that time Jesus came from Nazareth and was baptized by John in the river.” Mark 1:92.Because Christ commands it!“Jesus said, ‘Go then, to all people everywhere and make them my disciples, baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and then teach them to obey everything I have commanded you.’” Matt. 28:19-203.It demonstrates that I really am a believer!“...many of the people who heard Him believed and were baptized.” Acts 18:8“We know that we have come to know Him, if we obey His commands.” 1 John 2:3What Does Baptism Mean?1.It illustrates Christ’s_death and resurrection“Christ died for our sins... He was buried...and He rose again.” 1 Cor. 15:3-4“For when you are baptized, you were buried with Christ, and in baptism you were also raised with Christ. Col. 2:122.It illustrates my new life as a Christian.“When someone becomes a Christian he becomes a brand new person inside. The old life has passed away and a new life has begun!” 2 Cor. 5:17“By our baptism then, we were buried with Him and shared His death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead...so also we may live a new life!” Rom. 6:4Baptism doesn’t make you a believer — it shows that you already believe. Baptism does not “save” you, only your faith in Christ does that. Baptism is like a wedding ring — it’s the outward symbol of the commitment you made in your heart.“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith...it is the gift of God — not by works, so that no one can boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9Why Does Ignite Baptize by Immersion?1. Because Jesus was baptized that way.“As soon as Jesus was baptized, He went up out of the water.” Matthew 3:162. Every baptism in the Bible was by immersion.(Example) “...then both Philip and the man went down into the water and Philip baptized him. When they came up out of the water...” Acts 8:38-393. The word “Baptize” means to dip under water”.The Greek word baptizo means, “to immerse or dip under water”.The founders of many denominations agree:Martin Luther...“I would have those who are to be baptized to be entirely immersed, as the word imports and the mystery signifies.”John Calvin...“The word ‘baptize’ signifies to immerse. It is certain that immersion was the practice of the ancient church.”John Wesley...“Buried with Him, alludes to baptizing by immersion according to the custom of the first church.”
adult ministriesIgnite is full of people of every age, and it is our belief that the older must be present and engaged with God to help minister to the upcoming generations. We've just begun setting in place some great ways for the men and women of Ignite to connect to God and to each other throughout the week and months. Starting in August we will be starting some monthly events for the Men and for the Women to grow together and connect with God at. Right now we encourage all adults to get involved in a Torch Group. We have torch groups for singles, couples, just men, just women, and more... Go to our

who would have thought about that
salvationWhy Is Salvation So Important?People were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence.John 3:16; John 14:17; Romans 6:23; Romans 8:17-18;Revelation 20:15; 1 Cor. 2:7-9Why Do We Need to Be Saved?God’s creation. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called “sin”. This attitude separates people from God and causes many problems in life.Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6a; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:1, 2How Do We Receive Salvation?Salvation is God’s free gift to us but we must accept it. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin’s penalty. When we turn from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith we are saved. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith.Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8,9; John 14:6, 1:12; Titus 3:5; Galatians 3:26; Romans 5:1Are We Saved Forever?Because God gives us eternal life through Jesus Christ, the true believer is secure in that salvation for eternity. If you have been genuinely saved, you cannot “lose” it. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian. It is the grace and keeping power of God that gives us this security.John 10:29; 2 Timothy 1:12; Hebrews 7:25, 10:10,14; 1 Peter 1:3-5Salvation Through Jesus.... who is Jesus? The Bible tells us that Jesus is God incarnate; He is God the Son, eternally one with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit. He alone can forgive our sins and give salvation. The writer of Hebrews explains how "In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven" (Hebrews 1:1-3).Many people believe that Jesus lived, was a good teacher and a very spiritual man, but they deny that he is God. A diluted Jesus is not the real Jesus. We must be careful to believe in the Jesus that he himself declared he was, "not be[ing] led astray from [our] sincere and pure devotion to Christ" (2 Corinthians 11:3).Here are seven declarations and actions of Jesus that show us who he believed he was and is:1. Jesus said He was GodMatthew 26:63-65 "But Jesus remained silent. The high priest said to him, 'I charge you under oath by the living God: Tell us if you are the Christ, the Son of God.' 'Yes, it is as you say,' Jesus replied. 'But I say to all of you: In the future you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven.' Then the high priest tore his clothes and said, 'He has spoken blasphemy! Why do we need any more witnesses? Look, now you have heard the blasphemy.'"John 8:58-59 " 'I tell you the truth,' Jesus answered, 'before Abraham was born, I am!' At this, they picked up stones to stone him, but Jesus hid himself, slipping away from the temple grounds."John 10:30-33 " 'I and the Father are one.' Again the Jews picked up stones to stone him, but Jesus said to them, 'I have shown you many great miracles from the Father. For which of these do you stone me?' 'We are not stoning you for any of these,' replied the Jews, 'but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God.' "John 14:8-9 "Philip said, 'Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.' Jesus answered: 'Don't you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father'?' "2. Jesus said He came from heaven, God's eternal dwelling placeJohn 6:38 "For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me."John 16:28 "I came from the Father and entered the world; now I am leaving the world and going back to the Father."3. Jesus said He was sinless, as God alone is without sinJohn 8:46 "Can any of you prove me guilty of sin? If I am telling the truth, why don't you believe me?"4. Jesus forgave sinMark 2:5 "When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, 'Son, your sins are forgiven.'"Luke 7:48, 49 "Then Jesus said to her, 'Your sins are forgiven.' The other guests began to say among themselves, 'Who is this who even forgives sins?' "5. Jesus said He was the only way to heavenJohn 14:6 "Jesus answered, 'I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'"John 11:25 "Jesus said to her, 'I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies.'"6. Jesus accepted worship as GodMatthew 14:33 "Then those who were in the boat worshiped him Jesus, saying, "Truly you are the Son of God."John 9:38 "Then the man said, 'Lord Jesus, I believe,' and he worshiped him."7. Jesus performed miracles including raising others and himself from the deadMatthew 4:23 "Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people."Matthew 17:18 Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of the boy, and he was healed from that moment.Luke 8:49-50, 52-55 "While Jesus was still speaking, someone came from the house of Jairus, the synagogue ruler. 'Your daughter is dead,' he said. 'Don't bother the teacher any more.' Hearing this, Jesus said to Jairus, 'Don't be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed.' …Meanwhile, all the people were wailing and mourning for her. 'Stop wailing,' Jesus said. 'She is not dead but asleep.' They laughed at him, knowing that she was dead. But he took her by the hand and said, 'My child, get up!' Her spirit returned, and at once she stood up. Then Jesus told them to give her something to eat."Luke 7:12-15 "As he approached the town gate, a dead person was being carried out—the only son of his mother, and she was a widow. And a large crowd from the town was with her. When the Lord saw her, his heart went out to her and he said, 'Don't cry.' Then he went up and touched the coffin, and those carrying it stood still. He said, 'Young man, I say to you, get up!' The dead man sat up and began to talk, and Jesus gave him back to his mother."John 11:43, 44 "When he had said this, Jesus called in a loud voice, 'Lazarus, come out!' The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth around his face. Jesus said to them, 'Take off the grave clothes and let him go.'"Luke 24:5-8 "In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, 'Why do you look for the living among the dead? He [Jesus] is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: 'The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.' Then they remembered his words."

GodGod is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three personalities: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are coequal and are one God.Genesis 1:1,26,27,3:22 Psalm 90:2 Matthew 28:19 1 Peter 1:2 2 Corinthians 13:14Jesus ChristJesus Christ is the Son of God. Romans 6:23 Ephesians 2:8-9 John 14:6, 1:2 Titus 3:5 Galatians 3:26 Romans 5:1, 10:9-10About EternityPeople were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life in Heaven. Heaven and hell are real places of eternal existence. John 3:16, 14:17 Romans 6:23, 8:17-18 Revelation 20:15 1 Corinthians 2:7-9In addition to Essential Beliefs, we uphold the followingIn Non-Essential Beliefs, we have liberty. Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters... Who are you to judge someone else's servant? To his own master he stands or falls... So then each of us will give an account of himself to God... So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God.In All our Beliefs, we show charity. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. Romans 14:1,4,12,22 1 Corinthians 13:2
